Check Out LadyStar™ - A Visual Novel and Adventure Game

LadyStar Heavy Cat Multimedia Ltd. has created a magical and mysterious combination visual novel and adventure game, LadyStar™, which can be played in a web browser.

LadyStar is a new and quite unique game. It tells the story of Jessica Hoshi, a cheerful, optimistic and slightly silly 14-year old girl and her six new friends as they embark on an epic journey to discover the secrets of a magnificent and ancient legend.

With the high number of female characters in the game one would think it was made just for girls. The company goal however was to develop an adventure game that was accessible and fun for everyone. It will appeal to girls and boys, kids and adults, adventure game players and anime fans.

One of the key elements of this game is the actual story. It is filled with varied and interesting characters, has medieval fantasy elements, battles and interesting settings, while still maintaining a sophisticated plot.

LadyStar Team How to Play
LadyStar is a point and click, adventure game played in a web browser.

All of episodes from the first volume, called "Reflections in a Dream" are made available on the episodes page.

They are shareware, meaning you can download and play them for free! You can even share them with your friends, so they can help you gather the clues you'll need to solve the mysteries in the later volumes!

Files are downloaded to your computer in a .zip file which you extract, then run the setup file to install the game. The process is not complicated. Complete instructions are included in the .zip file, as well, on the ReadMe page.

If you enjoy the game you can then register to be able to download all the episodes from the remaining four volumes. Registration gives you access to the LadyStar Realm where you will be able to download all of the episodes from Volumes II through V as they are released over the next year. LadyStar is will also be available on CD-ROM with added extras, in the future.

Jessica I was able to download the first episodes very quickly on a high speed Internet connection and was playing the game right away. For those with slower connections the episodes are broken up into small 5MB files for easier download.

For new gamers like myself, the clickable Help file made things easy to understand. The point and click format was very easy to follow. The story was compelling enough to keep me going through the end of the episode and eager to try the next episode.

For more information visit the LadyStar web site where you can read the FAQ, check out the story characters and download episodes.
