If you need a witches broom this is an easy way and won't cost you anything.
Take a stick from the yard one that is a little crocked looks more like a witches broom. Then gather up pine needles or straw. Tie them in bundles with some strong thread I used embroidery floss doubled.
Take the small bundles 1 to 2 at a time and tie them around the bottom then take 1 or 2 more bundles and tie them and so on until you have it completely covered across the bottom.
When you get to the last bundle take the extra floss and wrap it around all the bundles to tie it off and hold them all together. When you get finished you will be amazed at how much this looks like a real witches broom.
Make sure to get the string really tight so the bundles don't fall off. You could probably use a hot glue gun if you want to but still make the bundles.
