Lesbian/Gay Pride Day
Definition:
The gay liberation movement, championing every person's right to choose the way he or she expresses his or her sexuality was born in New York in 1960. During the 1970s various groups began to observe Pride Day.
They choose the weekend nearest June 29th, the anniversary of the so-called Stonewall riots in New York City.
