The Brainy Company to Unveil Brainy Buddy™ Interactive Plush Toy at American International Toy Fair
ATLANTA and NEW YORK, Feb. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Brainy Company, a pioneer in the field of early childhood learning products, announced it will unveil Brainy Buddy™, a new interactive plush toy. Brainy Buddy™ will join the company's line of award-winning products including DVDs, books, CDs, games, flashcards and toys, at the upcoming American International Toy Fair in Manhattan. Toy Fair is the largest international toy trade show in the Western Hemisphere, where the newest and hottest products in the children's entertainment marketplace are exhibited.
Manufacturers, retailers, importers, licensors and reps from around the world can visit booth 3229 for the opportunity to interact with Brainy Buddy™, a soft, blue Brainy Baby® animal character encasing a wireless remote, which allows a child to control the accompanying DVD simply by squeezing the colors and symbols on the plush character's arms and legs.
"Toy Fair is the most important gathering of toy professionals and we are especially excited about our attendance this year to debut our new Brainy Buddy plush remote DVD controller that fosters child interaction while they are learning," said Dennis Fedoruk, president of The Brainy Company. "Coupled with our recently-released study on the effectiveness of Brain Baby products, the new offerings, new packaging and new retailer displays promise to provide our wholesale customers with the necessary tools to increase their sales of our product line in the coming year."
Last month, The Brainy Company announced the release of a new study that demonstrated children between the ages of 18 and 33 months were better able to identify a unique shape in a book after repeatedly viewing a 10-minute Brainy Baby® video. The peer-reviewed study, entitled "A US Study of Transfer of Learning from Video to Books in Toddlers," confirms the ability of infants and toddlers to learn from Brainy Baby's "Shapes & Colors" video. The study was published in the November 2010 issue of the Journal of Children and Media (JOCAM).
While the company propels into the next era of technology in educational products, The Brainy Company will introduce a line of wooden toys and puzzles reminiscent of the types of toys many parents would have played with during their childhoods. These educational products will provide parents with the opportunity to go back-to-the-basics using traditional learning methods. In addition, The Brainy Company will introduce new packaging and retailer displays designed to represent the company's new image and increase sales at the retail level.
Toy Fair 2011 will take place February 13-16, 2011 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York, NY.
Brainy Baby's products have won more than 75 awards and offer a complete line of DVDs, books, CDs, games, flashcards and toys that encourage exploration and reinforce basic preschool concepts. The product line continues to grow, with even more new products on the horizon, and now has more than 200 SKUs; including the brand new Baby Bidou MP3 player for toddlers in a variety of colors, brain-e Plush and more, all of which can be seen at the booth.
