PRESSMAN TOY TO INTRODUCE GAMES AND PUZZLES BASED ON "THE SMURFS" FROM COLUMBIA PICTURES/SONY PICTURES ANIMATION
Available for Purchase at Mass and Specialty Retailers Nationwide in July 2011
New York, February 11, 2011 – In anticipation of this summer’s Columbia Pictures’/Sony
Pictures Animation’s 3D release “The Smurfs,” in theaters August 3, 2011, Pressman Toy
Corporation announces a licensing deal to create games and puzzles based on the movie. Pressman
Toy’s games and puzzles will be available for purchase at mass and specialty retailers nationwide in
July 2011.
“The Smurfs may be only three apples high, but these little blue folks have big staying power,” said
Jim Pressman, president of Pressman Toy Corporation. “The Smurfs have been entertaining
families for generations and we know families will enjoy engaging with them through our games
and puzzles.”
Audiences everywhere are in for a Smurfy good time as the Smurfs make their first 3D trip to the
big screen in Columbia Pictures’ and Sony Pictures Animation’s live-action/animation hybrid
family comedy. When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village,
they tumble from their magical world and into ours - in fact, smack dab in the middle of Central
Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to
their village before Gargamel tracks them down. The film is directed by Raja Gosnell. The
screenplay is by J. David Stem & David N. Weiss and Jay Scherick & David Ronn, from a story by
J. David Stem & David N. Weiss, based on the characters and works of Peyo. The producer is
Jordan Kerner.
Pressman Toy’s preschool games and puzzles, all priced under $20 with many options under $10,
will allow children to take “The Smurfs” fun off-screen. Games will include:
Smurfs Whirl and Twirl Clumsy Game, an action-packed game featuring
a 3D spinning Clumsy Smurf. Players must collect cards with their
favorite Smurf characters and fill up their game cards to win, but they
never know where Clumsy will stop and pop out a card. For 2 to 4

Race to Smurfs Village, a board game where players choose their favorite
Smurfs character and try to be the first to get to their village. Special spaces
help players get closer to the village, while others will set them back. For 2
to 4 players. Ages 3 and up. MSRP: $9.99.
Don’t Drop Clumsy Board Game, a game of skill where players must help
Clumsy Smurf try to keep his balance as he continues to be raised higher
and higher. For 1 to 4 players. Ages 5 and up. MSRP: $14.99.
Hold On Clumsy, a game that challenges kids’ dexterity as they carefully
remove blocks from the wall on top of which Clumsy Smurf is seated. For
2 or more players. Ages 5 and up. MSRP: $14.99.
Smurfs Follow Your Nose Dominoes, a new twist on classic dominos that has
players matching Smurfs by their noses. For 2 to 4 players. Ages 3 and up.
MSRP: $8.99.
Smurfs Pop ‘N Race, a fast-paced game where players race to get all of
their pieces home first. For 2 to 4 players. Ages 5 and up. MSRP: $8.99.
Smurfs Make a Match, a my first matching game to sharpen memory skills
complete with a miniature Smurfs figurine. For 2 to 4 players. Ages 3 and up.
MSRP: $7.99.
Smurfs Big Roll Bingo, a child’s first bingo set that combines the fun of the
classic game with favorite Smurfs characters and adds a second level of play.
For 2 to 6 players. Ages 4 and up. MSRP: $8.99.
Smurfs Old Maid, a card game featuring favorite Smurfs characters that has
players making pairs while avoiding the old maid. For 2 to 4 players. Ages 4
and up. MSRP: $4.99.
Pressman Toy will also introduce several lines of Smurfs puzzles featuring real movie scenes: a 24-
piece puzzle assortment; pal-size puzzles; and 48-piece 3D Visual puzzles, complete with a special
3D viewer that makes the scenes come to life.
