Crystal Growing

(Providence, RI - February 12, 2012) - Thames & Kosmos tackles a classic, generations-old science kit with the launch of Crystal Growing, an experiment and craft kit with which young chemists can grow crystals exhibiting eleven different color-shape combinations. Crystal Growing, along with all 18 of Thames & Kosmos' new science kits, will be officially unveiled at the American International Toy Fair, Booth #1637, February 12th-15th in New York City.

The German language versions of this product, sold by Thames & Kosmos' partner company Kosmos, have sold over one million units worldwide. Now it is available in the United States and in the English language worldwide.

This classic Crystal Growing kit allows kids to create dozens of dazzling crystals and conduct 15 illuminating experiments. They can experiment with four chemically different crystals each with different properties, mold fun plaster shapes and grow layers of crystals on them, and use dyes to form a rainbow of custom colored crystals.

Young scientists will learn about the chemistry, geometry, and structure of crystals. They can then display their crystal creations in a clear treasure chest with a locking lid. They can even mold their own geode and create a beautiful crystal cavern inside.

Includes a 32-page, full-color large-format manual. Ages: 12+; SRP: $29.95
