THAMES & KOSMOS ADDS TWO FUN NEW SCIENCE KITS TO ITS INTRODUCTORY IGNITION SERIES
(Providence, RI - February 12, 2012) - Thames & Kosmos announced today the addition of two new science kits to its popular Ignition Series, a line of introductory science kits for ages 8 to 10 that retail for around $14. The new kits are Science Experiments On The Go, and a travel-ready science kit that offers fun experiments that can be easily performed anywhere, and Physics: Force & Pressure, which teaches kids about air pressure with fun balloon experiments. These, along with all 18 of Thames & Kosmos' new science kits, will be officially unveiled at the American International Toy Fair, Booth #1637, February 12th-15th in New York City.
Thames & Kosmos also announced today a new play day program using the Ignition Series kits. Retailers with physical stores can purchase packs of Ignition Series kits at deep discounts to use in in-store play day programs to promote Thames & Kosmos kits.
Science Experiments On The Go takes science on the road with 10 travel-ready activities. The kit includes all the materials a child will need to perform the experiments, and can be easily performed on planes, in cars, or on trains.
Kids can assemble a simple pair of binoculars and learn how they work, set up a mini cable car to run between car windows or airplane tray tables, build a balance scale to measure weights. Young experimenters can calculate how far a distance is on a map, and how fast they are traveling. Ages: 8+; SRP: $13.95
Physics: Force & Pressure shows how balloons are more than just a lot of hot air! Young scientists can learn about air pressure by conducting experiments with air, water, and rubber balloons. Kids can make a simple water fountain to learn about air pressure, race a jet-propelled balloon rocket to investigate forces, and lift a pile of books with their breath. They'll have a blast with balloons zooming, floating, popping, and flying all around the room! Ages 8+; SRP: $13.95

Thames & Kosmos kits can be found at specialty toy, hobby, gift, and museum stores, as well as through educational and home-school suppliers, toy and gift catalogs, and online stores.
