2008 Ushers in Hot Line-up of Hit Movie and Television Properties to the World of LEGO® Building

Indiana Jones LEGO NEW YORK (February 17, 2008) – Combining LEGO® play with the hottest story and character properties is a proven success, and 2008 is slated to be a blockbuster year! This year, the collect-and-build-and play frenzy continues with new products and stories to engage children and adult collectors of all ages. New LEGO Indiana Jones™, LEGO Star Wars™: "The Clone Wars" and LEGO SPEED RACER™ join continuing favorites like classic LEGO Star Wars, LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants, LEGO BATMAN™ and LEGO DUPLO® Thomas & Friends™ to make 2008 a box office builder's dream!

LEGO Indiana Jones™
A new addition combining a classic movie property with a timeless play pattern, LEGO Indiana Jones™ premiered in January with four sets based on the classic trilogy. Indiana Jones™ Motorcycle Chase (SRP: $9.99), Indiana Jones™ and the Lost Tomb (SRP: $19.99), Race for the Stolen Treasure (SRP: $29.99), and Temple Escape (SRP: $59.99) are all reminiscent of the highly iconic and action packed adventures of the rogue archaeologist and hero in the first three movies.

Four sets based on the upcoming feature film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, are slated to launch in May when the movie premieres. Jungle Duel (SRP: $9.99), River Chase (SRP: $19.99), Jungle Critter (SRP: $39.99) and Temple of the Crystal Skull (SRP: $79.99) recreate the new adventures of Indiana Jones and allow for instant movie role play fun!

This summer, TT Games and Lucasarts further the combined franchise excitement with LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, slated to be available on multiple gaming platforms.

Star Wars LEGO LEGO Star Wars™
. The first licensed property for the LEGO Group in 1999, LEGO Star Wars continues to be one of the company's best-selling lines, appealing to both children who are new to the story and to adult collectors who have followed Star Wars for years. In 2008, classic saga products are joined by building sets based on the new "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" television series.

Classic Star Wars adventures kicked off in January with the Imperial Destroyer™ (SRP: $9.99), Rebel Scout Speeder™ (SRP: $9.99), Hail-Fire Droid™ & Army of Droids™ (SRP: $19.99), and the AT-AP Podwalker™ (SRP: $39.99). Also launched in January are two special sets: the Rogue Shadow (SRP: $49.99), featured in the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game, marking the first LEGO set ever to be inspired by a video game; and the second is a sneak peek at "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" with Anakin's Fighter™ (SRP: $19.99).

In August, the "Clone Wars" animated television series adventures come to life through four new sets including all-new Star Wars characters as minifigures. Included in the line up are: V-19 Torrent (SRP: $44.99), MagnaGuard Starfighter™ (SRP: $54.99), AT-TE Walker (SRP: $89.99) and the Republic Gunship (SRP: $119.99).

New to the LEGO RACERS line of build-and-race constructible vehicles are four new SPEED RACER™ sets, inspired by the upcoming movie, focused on multiple authentic racers and their cars. Each box features a racing duo for head-to-head fun, and SPEED RACER characters go plastic – LEGO minifigure style! Children can recreate the movie with the following sets: Speed Racer and Snake Oiler (SRP: $19.99), Racer X & Taejo Togokahn (SRP: $19.99), Cruncher Block and Racer X (SRP: $39.99), and the Grand Prix (SRP: $59.99).

A new movie drives excitement for the BATMAN™ franchise, along with four new vehicles coming to life in LEGO form based on the BATMAN property. Three classic BATMAN vehicles: Batman's Buggy: Escape of Mr. Freeze (SRP: $9.99), Robin's Scuba Jet: Attack of the Penguin (SRP: $19.99), and The Batcycle: Harley Quinn's Hammer Truck (SRP: $29.99) allow children to act out all of their favorite BATMAN adventures.
