Designed to mix interactive reading, learning and caring with just plain fun, the new line up includes the Smart Check-Up Tenderheart Bear™, the Care-a-Lot Learning Center, the Giggle Fun Cubs and the Share-A-Story Care Bear. Children will be delighted this holiday season with these adorable new additions to their favorite family of Care Bears characters from American Greetings.
Play Along encourages parents and children to spend a special time each day reading together with Share-A-Story Care Bear. Using animatronic technology, Share Bear magically comes to life and reads along with the storybook. Her eyes, mouth and head move in sync with the story as she reads a classic fairytale aloud, and the “turn a page” signal feature makes it easy for children to follow along. Share Bear comes with 1 cartridge, 1 classic fairytale book, and a key ring to hold additional cartridges. For extended story times, additional books and cartridges are sold separately, including Jack and the Beanstalk, Princess and the Pea, The 3 Little Pigs and Cinderella. The baby versions of Care Bears characters were successfully introduced last year, and Play Along continues to nurture that flourishing line with the Giggle Fun Cubs, launching nationwide this fall. The interactive line features adorably ticklish and giggly Care Bears Cubs. All kids need to do is tickle their tummies to hear them laugh and see them wave their hands and feet. Also new for this fall in the Care Bears preschool line are Smart Check-Up Tenderheart Bear and the Care-a-Lot Learning Center. Smart Check-Up Tenderheart Bear is a new twist on an old favorite… “Let’s play doctor!,” and encourages children to role-play in a fun new way. Featuring electronic talking sounds, Smart Check-up lets children experience the joy of ‘caring’ for Tenderheart Bear. There are 7 check-up points for pretend doctor play, and the interactive play pieces include: Stethoscope, Ear Scope, Thermometer, Syringe, and Bandage. Children can press the ‘play doctor’ play pieces to any one of 7 check-up points, and Tenderheart responds with fun phrases – 25 different expressions in all. The Care Bear Care-a-lot™ Learning Center is a 4-in-1 interactive learning toy that teaches letters, numbers, colors and shapes. Children can flip through the 10-page book and enjoy 4 different fun activities, depending on which mode the toy is in. Each mode has “page turning continuity” for a variety of reading readiness activities. Youngsters can listen, learn and explore for hours of entertaining fun with activities that help them master important early learning skills like language, letter identification and number recognition. When introduced by American Greetings in 1982, the Care Bears property was truly ahead of its time. Never before had a property been introduced for children that was specifically designed to help teach them the importance of caring for others and sharing special feelings.
