HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – The final frontier is about to get a whole lot funnier when ALVIN & THE CHIPMUNKS GO TO THE MOVIES: Star Wreck and ALVIN & THE CHIPMUNKS: The Very First Alvin Show arrive on DVD September 8, 2009 from Bagdasarian Productions and Paramount Home Entertainment.

In Star Wreck, Alvin and the gang star in hilarious send-ups of Hollywood movies and characters: “Star Wreck” takes them into outer space aboard the S.S. Boobyprize; “Elementary, My Dear Simon” finds them on the trail of the infamous Moriarty; and “Chip Tracy” follows the only clean cop in a city awash in crime.

The Very First Alvin Show features the 1961 broadcast of the classic Chipmunk series that started it all. Transferred from 35mm film to HD, this episode has never been released on home video. The DVD also includes the musical episode “Rockin’ Through the Decades” hosted by Will Smith and featuring the Chipmunks singing hit songs such as “She Loves You”, “Satisfaction, ” “Beat It” and more, as well as the episode “A Chipmunk Reunion” in which the Chipmunks search for their long lost mother.
