Graco Blossom vs Duodiner

Of all the necessary items to purchase before the big day arrives, for most people the high chair probably doesn’t make it to the top of the list. You’ll likely be thinking about your baby’s sleeping arrangements and buying a stroller. But you still need to do your research with high chairs, as there are a lot of options to choose from.

Some can convert into seats for toddlers and children as they grow, some are easier to clean than others and some will fold down, where as others are stand alone only. In this article, we’ll take a look at two popular options by Graco:

  • Graco Blossom 6 in 1
  • Graco DuoDiner LX

What to consider when buying a high chair

Before we look at these two options in detail, it’s important to know what you should be looking for when purchasing a high chair.

Some high chairs can convert into a normal chair as your baby grows. Although you will likely pay a higher price for this feature, you may save money in the long run as you won’t need to buy 2 or even 3 different chairs.

Adjustable seat height and foot rest

Your baby should always feel comfortable when they’re sat down at mealtimes. Look for the option to adjust the footrest and seat height to cater for your growing child.

Compact when folded

If space is at a premium in your kitchen, a high chair which can fold down into a smaller size is a very useful feature. Of course, you may wish to keep the high chair up all the time. But just to warn you, some models do take up more space than you realise.

Therefore in smaller kitchens it’s easy to clip your feet on the extra wide base (which is an essential safety feature to keep your baby safe and stop the chair toppling over).

You may wish to have a recline feature when you buy a high chair, and you should also look for the option to remove the tray and seat padding for easy cleaning. High chairs get messy very quickly!

Detailed Comparison

WINNER – Graco DuoDiner LX

The Graco DuoDiner LX is lighter (25lbs) where as the Blossom is 29lbs, so it’ll be a little easier to move around the kitchen for you.

There’s not much in it, but the Graco Blossom is shorter and narrower by an inch and half, so it’ll take up slightly less space in the kitchen. However it doesn’t fold up, so if you want a high chair that you can put away from time to time, then the DuoDiner LX is a better choice.

WINNER – Graco Blossom

The Graco Blossom is a more versatile product overall. It has an extra height position than the DuoDiner LX, and it can be used for longer over 4 stages; high chair, infant booster, toddler booster and youth chair. The DuoDiner LX can only be used for the first 3 stages. Furthermore, the Graco Blossom can be used by 2 children at the same time to cater for your growing family.

Both high chairs have a 3 and 5 point harness which ensures your baby is safe.

Ease of cleaning

Both have a wipeable plastic tray and frame which you can easily clean. Furthermore, the seat pads can be removed and washed in a washing machine.

Both high chairs are easy to assemble and customers generally don’t seem have to too much trouble putting it together. Everything just clicks into place.
