Name: Anteater, Family Myrmecophagidae
Description: Probably the oddest looking mammal known. Anteaters have a very long, tube-like head ending with it's mouth and nose. Long body with bushy tail. Adults grow to be between 6 and 8 feet long and from 65 to 140 pounds in weight.
Location: Mexico, Central America, and tropical South America.
Special Features:
Tongue can grow up to two feet
Four toes on each front paw
Giant anteaters tend to be solitary animals
Light sleepers
Mostly diurnal
Diet: Ants and Termites.
