Sevilla Building Blocks Receives Double Honors
Skaneateles, NY (September 17, 2008) – For 35 years Dr. Toy, a real Ph.D. who evaluates toys and children’s products, has seen the best (and worst) in Toyland. This year she was so impressed by the European craftsmanship of HABA’s Sevilla Building Blocks that she awarded it not one but two top honors for 2008. Sevilla Building Blocks was named to the Top 10 Active Toys list plus the Best 100 Products in the Construction Play category, part of the highly anticipated 2008 Dr. Toy’s 100 Best Children’s Products roster.
Could stacking these blocks inspire a future architect in the family? The colors and forms of these building blocks are quite striking and the small structures inspire even grownups. Created for little hands, the 25 wooden pieces include a block with rattle, bell, mirror, prism, magnifier, and even a peep hole. Each block is handcrafted from beechwood and has been designed to combine with other HABA building blocks. Suitable for children ages 1+, the award-winning set retails for $70.
Dr. Toy, aka Stevanne Auerbach, Ph.D., believes, “children learn through play and these smart toys and products encourage children to maximize their potential.” She continues, “Parents and grandparents need help to get a head start locating new, diversified products that children will enjoy while increasing skills, enhance instruction and expand creativity.”
This year’s 100 Best Children’s Products feature “hours of constructive, educational and stimulating fun.” Review the entire list of Dr. Toy’s 100 Best Children’s Products for 2008 at www.drtoy.com.
